English notebook requirements

Each student is required to keep ALL English work in a separate English notebook or section of a large binder.
Daily assignments should be in chronological order with the date listed for each day's assignments.
Student notebooks are checked every 2-3 weeks which constitutes a LARGE portion of students' grades.

"I'm failing! What do I do?"

1. Do your missing work!
Find your missing work on the Web site or come get it from me, complete it, and hand it in. Turning in work late is better than not at all.

2. Current term credit retrieval opportunity: Operation No Failures!
o   What: Students who are in danger of failing (D or lower) may complete EXTRA assignments to make up for credit lost during the term. Students who are on time, stay the entire 60 minutes, and complete the EXTRA assignments will have 20 points added to their grade. They may attend each Tuesday until their grade is out of the danger zone (above a D).
o   When: Every Tuesday after school from 2:15-3:15. This begins after midterm of each term. 1st term sessions begin September 27.

o   Where: Mrs. Gregoire’s room, rm. 236

3. Take advantage of extra credit opportunities:
Attend a performing art:
o   10 points for ½ page summary plus ticket or program.
o   Each student may attend up to 3 performances per term.
Donate classroom supplies:
o   Whiteboard markers, highlighters, markers, lined paper, computer paper, sticky notes, pencils, and tissues.
o   5 points extra credit per pack. Each student may donate up to 3 packs per term.
